The Well Church – Cincinnati, Ohio: Full Stage & AVL System Transformation

From our very first meeting with the team at The Well Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, it was clear we were aligned. It was one of those conversations where you quickly realize everyone wants the same thing—to create a space that serves people well and supports what God is doing in the church. Each team brought something valuable to the table, and that spirit carried through the entire project.

The Well Church was in a season of growth and had purchased a larger facility years earlier. As the church continued to expand, it became clear that significant updates were needed. The design phase for this project lasted nearly 18 months, largely because other areas of the facility required immediate attention to ensure services could continue safely and smoothly.

Design Process & Vision

This project took several turns along the way, but ultimately became one of our favorite projects to be part of. Through the extended design process, we explored numerous options, priorities, and phasing strategies before landing on the right path forward.

Stage & AVL Upgrades

In the end, the stage space received a complete transformation:

  • Full stage redesign, removing outdated carpet and unused choir seating

  • State-of-the-art video system for services and events

  • Professional camera system for live streaming and content creation

  • Comprehensive lighting system upgrade

The goal was to create a space flexible enough for Sunday worship services and Saturday concerts, and the solution required a bold, start-from-scratch approach.

Technical Highlights

  • Flown audio system designed for proper coverage in a portable setup/tear-down environment

  • New trussing and motor systems

  • LED moving spot fixtures, LED moving washes, and LED strip lighting for stage design

  • Brand-new lighting control system

  • Five-camera video system, including:

    • Three stationary cameras for live streaming

    • Two fully wireless gimbal-mounted cameras

    • Independent recording of each camera for post-service content and YouTube production

Results & Impact

An incredible amount of technology, planning, and care went into this design and installation. Seeing The Well Church step into this newly transformed space for their Christmas services was a true highlight for our team.

The Well Cincy

Calvary Church – Greensboro, North Carolina: LED Technology Upgrade for Worship Spaces

Our friends at Calvary Church in Greensboro, North Carolina were ready for a change. Like many churches, their aging projectors were becoming dim and required ongoing maintenance. As they explored options for replacement, they also began rethinking their overall stage design and visual experience.

When we were brought into the conversation, we proposed a solution that addressed both challenges at once: implementing LED technology.

Project Vision & Challenges

Rather than investing in new projectors and replacement lamps, the goal was to:

  • Increase brightness and clarity for every seat in the auditorium

  • Reduce long-term maintenance and operational issues

  • Create a more flexible and modern stage design

LED Solutions Delivered

The project included:

  • LED Side Screens for IMAG
    Installed LED panels as side screens to provide a significantly brighter image, ensuring clean sightlines for camera shots, lyrics, and scripture from every seat—without the ongoing upkeep of projector systems.

  • LED Panels for Stage Design
    Added LED technology to the stage itself, creating a dynamic digital backdrop. This new canvas allows for moving backgrounds during worship, enhanced scripture visuals during messages, and branded content during hosting moments.

Results & Impact

The LED systems gave Calvary Church a fresh, modern look while eliminating aging equipment that was becoming unreliable. With a stage design that can now be updated instantly, the church gained creative flexibility, visual consistency, and a system built for long-term use.

This project is a great example of how LED technology can simplify operations while expanding creative possibilities for churches looking to move forward.

Calvary Church North Carolina Part 1

Calvary Church – Greensboro, North Carolina: Lighting System Upgrade

Shortly after completing our previous project with Calvary Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, their team reached out again—this time facing a challenge common to many churches. Their aging dimming system, which powered both stage and house lights, was failing and no longer reliable.

The initial conversation started around replacing the dimming unit itself, but it quickly became clear this would be an expensive short-term fix. Traditional dimming systems are becoming obsolete as lighting technology continues to move toward LED-based fixtures, which draw significantly less power and have dimming and control built directly into the lights.

Lighting Solutions Implemented

Rather than patching outdated technology, we designed a long-term lighting upgrade that included:

  • New LED Ellipsoidal Fixtures for Key Lighting
    Installed in the same positions as the original fixtures, providing clean, consistent key light while eliminating bulb replacements and excess heat.

  • Under-Balcony LED Lighting
    Replaced dimmer-dependent fixtures with LED recessed lights for reliable, efficient house lighting.

  • Complete House Lighting System Redesign
    Converted nearly 85 conventional house lights into 46 high-efficiency LED fixtures, significantly reducing power usage while increasing control.

Results & Impact

This new system moves the church beyond grouped lighting zones and into full-color, independently addressed lighting control, giving their team precise control over intensity and color for each fixture. The result is a lighting system that is easier to maintain, more energy-efficient, and flexible enough to support a wide range of services and events.

Overall, Calvary Church stepped into modern lighting technology that will serve them well for years to come—combining reliability, creative freedom, and long-term sustainability.

Valley View Christian Church

Transformative AVL Upgrades for Worship Excellence

We had the privilege of partnering with Valley View Christian Church to bring their space into the modern era with major Audio, Visual, and Lighting (AVL) system upgrades. This project focused on revitalizing their lighting and video systems to enhance worship experiences and messages.

Key Enhancements Delivered:

  • LED Video Wall Installation:

    • Over 200 2.6mm LED panels spanning the church’s 70-foot-wide stage.

    • A stunning layout featuring three separate screens for dynamic visual presentations.

    • Powered by Pro Video Player and sent via fiber using the Novastar H2 video processor.

    • Flexible content display: Stretch visuals across all three screens or showcase unique content on each screen simultaneously.

  • Advanced Lighting System Upgrade:

    • LED Key Lights for consistent and professional illumination.

    • LED Wash Moving Lights above the stage for vibrant and dynamic effects.

    • LED Moving Spotlights for enhanced backlighting.

    • Managed by Chroma Q Vista software, with convenient wall-panel controls for pre-programmed lighting cues without needing the main lighting console.

Valley Christian Church: Gymnasium-to-Auditorium AVL Transformation

Valley Christian Church was experiencing something every church hopes for—growth. Led by a passionate pastor and leadership team, their congregation was expanding quickly, and their main auditorium was reaching capacity every weekend and during special services. To create room for continued growth, the church made the strategic decision to transform their gymnasium into a larger, flexible auditorium while still preserving its use for sports and community events.

This vision created a unique set of challenges for Audio, Visual, and Lighting (AVL) integration, and we were honored to come alongside their team to help solve them.

Key Design & Integration Challenges

  • Treating a gymnasium acoustically for live worship and spoken word

  • Installing a large-format LED wall in a space exposed to heavy sports activity

  • Implementing stage and key lighting protected from volleyballs and dodgeballs

  • Designing portable, plug-and-play AVL systems that could deploy for services and disappear during the week

Custom AVL Solutions Delivered

Through thoughtful design and collaboration, we implemented:

  • A brand-new audio system optimized for worship and speech

  • A flexible video system, including LED display solutions

  • A complete lighting system with protected fixtures

  • Custom stage design and curtain systems

  • Portable control areas for AV equipment

  • Confidence monitors and supporting AVL infrastructure

While some of the solutions were intentionally unique, they were designed to meet the church exactly where they are—providing systems that function beautifully during services while remaining unobtrusive throughout the week. This project is a great example of how thoughtful AVL design can support growth, flexibility, and long-term ministry vision.

Three Part AVL Upgrade and Update

We had a blast partnering with Eastlake Church AGAIN. We previously upgraded their visual system from projectors to an LED system. This time, we had the pleasure of reconfiguring the LED wall as well as bringing some other AVL upgrades to better enhance their creativity and control booth experience.

Key Enhancements Delivered:

  • Lighting Control:

    • Installation of a new lighting console: GrandMA Command Wing XT

    • More flexibility and versatility in lighting design

  • Video Control:

    • Installation of the Novastar H2 frame with 4k ins and outs, using fiber as a backbone for data transmission and Pro Video Player for multi-screen control/playback

    • Flexible content display: Stretch visuals across all three screens (Center LED Wall and 2 Side Projectors) or showcase unique content on each screen simultaneously..

  • Stage Design Update:

    • Complete overhaul of rigging, panel layout, and lighting plot to coincide with video control and lighting control upgrades.

This project was another opportunity to take our initial upgrades to the space even further with even more upgrades and updated stage and lighting designs to go along with those upgrades, transforming the space yet again and creating a fresh and immersive environment for both volunteers and the congregation alike.

Oceanview Church Kids Ministry Facility
